What a review tells you
Reviews describe individual experiences. Confirmation helps limit abuse, but it cannot guarantee that every experience or statement is accurate.
Understand the labels
- Email confirmed
- The reviewer confirmed access to an email address. This does not establish their identity or prove a purchase.
- Invited reviewer
- The reviewer used an invitation from the business and confirmed the matching email. The invitation alone does not independently prove a transaction.
- Transaction linked
- A review is linked to a transaction record. This is not a guarantee that every statement in the review is accurate.
- External source
- The source is named beside an imported review. Separate provider summaries are labeled and are not added to this page’s overall rating.
Ratings are independent of payment
The public average includes eligible public reviews, including reviews above a business’s plan allowance. Paying for a plan does not remove negative reviews or raise a rating. Reviews are listed newest first.
A report does not automatically hide a review. Reports need assessment; reviews removed for a policy violation no longer contribute to the public rating.
Share your own experience
- Describe a real experience in your own words, whether positive or negative.
- Do not review a business you own or work for, impersonate someone, or post repeated reviews for the same business.
- Do not include passwords, payment information, private contact details, threats or harassment.
- Businesses should invite customers consistently, without selecting only satisfied customers or rewarding a particular rating.
What is visible
Your display name, rating, review text and review date are public. The email used for confirmation is not displayed publicly. An invitation can include the recipient’s name and an email match used to check who may use the link.
Use a display name you are comfortable sharing, and keep sensitive information out of your review. Read the privacy notice for more information.
Ask for help or report a concern
For a review concern, correction, privacy request or accessibility problem, contact contact@rate-my.biz. Include the page link and a short explanation; do not send passwords or payment details.
Business owners can also report a review from their review inbox. Reporting does not guarantee removal.
